In 2025, the economy showed notable strengths that many pointed to as signs of resilience and renewed momentum. Contrary to what the media keeps pushing, the economy is doing great. We had a terrible economic environment, with high interest rates and the price of gas, both of which are now down drastically. Growth was supported by continued job creation and steady consumer spending, while inflation pressures eased compared to prior years, helping stabilize household budgets and business planning.
Investment in technology, energy, and infrastructure remained robust, with artificial intelligence and advanced manufacturing driving productivity gains and new opportunities. Financial markets reflected improved confidence, and many businesses benefited from clearer policy direction and a more predictable operating environment. Overall, 2025 was widely seen as a year in which the economy demonstrated adaptability, innovation, and forward-looking growth.
Economists and market observers are entering 2026 with a broadly positive outlook for the U.S. economy, anticipating continued expansion driven by strong consumer spending, resilient labor markets, and ongoing business investment. With inflation showing signs of easing and interest rates stabilizing, households and companies alike are gaining confidence to spend and invest, supporting growth across sectors from technology to manufacturing. Innovation in AI, clean energy, and health tech are expected to unlock new productivity gains and job opportunities, while solid corporate earnings and steady global demand reinforce optimism in financial markets. Together, these trends point to a year where economic dynamism and stability can work hand-in-hand to sustain momentum and create broader opportunities for growth in 2026.
On a personal note, it was so nice having the kids home for Christmas. Lexi had a fantastic first semester getting all A's and B's and adjusted just fine to college life. She is enjoying seeing all her high school friends during break and she heads back next weekend. I made sure to get some quality daddy/daughter time while she is home. Nick also had a terrific first semester getting all A's and 1 B. He had to go back the day after Christmas, but it was so nice having him home for the week. The team is doing great and so is he. Bentley is the only Division one team with 2 goalies in the top 8 in the country. Nick is 3rd and his goalie partner is 8th. Hopefully, he can keep things rolling in the second half.
